Vicky Sanderson I’m not posting these pics from BeautiTone because it’s the number one Canadian-made and owned retail paint brand, or because I like the ease with which you can pick it up at a Home Hardware. Nor is it just because it’s the season when paint manufacturers roll out their colour calls for the coming year.
I’m posting them because the company has made such lovely vignettes for the reveals their 2023 Colour of the Year that it seems a shame not to share them.
Moments falls in line with other brands like Sico and Dulux in presenting a green-influenced blue. It’s a lovely colour that evokes a calming sense of permanence (like the sea). It’s also got a certain energy, and it can provide a lift to most décor styles, both as a foundational colour (for drama) or as an accent (for punch).
Another design trend BeautiTone is noting; the emergence vivid reds, burgundies, lighter blues, oranges, olives, and gold that pair so well with the confident blue of Moments. See it below with textured pieces in sandy, wheat-like, and oatmeal tones.
