For now, marvel at this quietly arresting example of modern Finnish large-scale wood architecture from Anttinen Oiva Architects.

Part of a revamp of the old port of Helsinki, it's very demure, very Nordic.

The pictures I looked at made me think of obscure, arty movies made in the 70s, preferably with Glenda Jackson wearing a leather trench.

When you think of it, there was more than a touch of Nordic structure to the magnificent GJ, who I once say play Hedda Gabler btw. Brilliant brilliant actor.

As I say, more soon on Around the House. Just had to show this pic to my millions and millions and millions of worldwide fans. Isn't it lovely?

This handmade card by @holly_hutchison_art is so lovely I might just have to send it to myself. But then, wouldn't I also have to gift myself the cute socks, given I bought them with the intention of gifting?

The only logical answer is yes, naturally.

The card is a mini alcohol print that slides out of its card for framing. Inside it's blank so you can add your own message.

If you are out there now thinking damn, I wish I was going to be the one to get those darling but inexpensive Sheer Fruits socks from Minden's prettiest store, don't worry - I got two more pairs of socks and another card to serve in just such a case.
